Cao Dai Temple and Cu Chi Tunnels 1 Day

Duration:1 Day/ Everyday
Hightlights:Ho Chi Minh - Cao Dai - Cu Chi - Ho Chi Minh
A place that’s physically invisible, the Cu Chi tunnels have sure carved themselves a celebrated niche in the history of guerilla warfare. Its celebrated and unseen geography straddles –all of it underground –something which the Americans eventually found as much to their embarrassment as to their detriment. They were dug, before the American War,in the late 1940s,as a peasant-army response to a more mobile and ruthless French occupation. The plan was simple:take the resistance briefly to the enemy and then, literally, vanish.
The head quarter of Cao Dai sect is located in Tay Ninh. This religion was founded in 1923 and now numbers over 2 million members. After breakfast we travel by roads to Tay Ninh to see the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend the fantastic mid-day service when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes,a symbol of the curious combination of the Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism. Afterwards we continue to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used as a military base for the Vietcong in the American war.
